Dr. Ramsey's 30 year + tenure as a technology executive includes the successful design, development, implementation, and support of mission critical systems leveraging data analytics and optimization to provide business advantage.
Mark's extensive experience includes his role as the first Head, R&D Data for GlaxoSmithKline plc, a multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in London, and the world's sixth-largest pharmaceutical company.
Prior to joining GSK, Mark was the first Chief Data Officer (CDO) for Samsung Mobile, and served as a member of the executive leadership team responsible for the utilization of information as an asset, through data consolidation, business intelligence, big data, social media analytics and advanced data mining.
Dr. Ramsey led the growth strategy, development and launch of the IBM Business Analytics & Optimization business, spanning over 150 countries in the growth markets, which resulted in a technology organization of over 2,000 consultants with annual revenues exceeding $800m and a CAGR of over 80%.
Dr. Ramsey is an inventor for the patent on the integration of data mining within a parallel relational database and the use of advanced analytics for user behavior monitoring as well as 27 other patents and numerous patent-pending filings in the area of data analytics and optimization.
